Got Game?

I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if I go astray... O.K. maybe I wasn't dreaming when I wrote this --- great opening line though, huh?! Happy New Year to ya! O.K., enough chit chat, are you one of the millions of people out there that get the short end of the (dating) stick time after time? Perhaps you know someone who does. Let's discuss this damned problem, shall we?

It's a new year, time for a new attitude. I've got an attitude, so sue me. You might want to try getting one too. Not a nasty, or foul attitude; An Attitude. An Attitude is a statement. It states: I know who I am. I am worthy. I will NOT settle for less anymore. Nope. This time, I'm gonna get mine!

Hmmm... does this seem a bit selfish? It isn't. Who in this entire world is more important than you? Not a damned soul. Some of us are so used to doing things the wrong way that we wouldn't know the right way if it slapped us in the face. That's o.k. I'm here to tell you about it.

Dating is a game. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If they do, they're lying to you. Would I lie to you? Nope. Let's just say you responded to someone's personal ad. The two of you hit it off, and after a while, decide to meet.

Scenario #1: He/she calls you, and the two of you talk on the phone for hours! You've got soooo much in common! Ooh child! This is it! He/she is the one! The next few nights it's the same thing --- long, deep talks on the phone. This is so wonderful! You can tell him/her everything! Hell, you hate it when the two of you have to hang up the phone! Enough of this phone stuff, you've decided to meet face to face! It's on!

You go running around looking for something nice to wear. You get your hair done, (or weave tightened, or new wig) your nails done and your makeup done. You practice your lines, practice your smile and pray that this one works out! I can't front, I've been there!

Fellas, I can't forget you. You also get groomed up! Y'all be looking good, smelling good, and even have plenty of cash on hand! Afterall, the first impression is a lasting impression. O.K., you meet! The two of you seem to like each other! Thank you God! Soon there may be no more lonely nights!

You've got a man/woman! Ha! Your friends can eat their little hearts out, huh?! Everything is going as smooth as silk --- you guys talk on the phone everynight, and see each other at least three times per week. Things couldn't be better ... Well, he/she was supposed to come over tonight, yet he/she didn't show up or call.... hmmm... You've left several messages, yet your calls weren't returned. What is going on here??? You know, don't you?
