Age ain't nothing but a number

Age ain't nothing but a Number Miss Gyrl Stella got her groove back! Tongues are still wagging regarding the topic of older woman, younger man. It's amazing. Older man, younger woman - no problem. Older woman, younger man -problem, BIG problem. The question is... why?

Men have been dating and marrying younger women for ages. It's accepted even when there is an extreme age difference. When an older woman begins to date a younger man, gossip begins to fly. The grapevine is on fire, y'all!

Age ain't nothing but a number. As long as both parties are of legal age, what's age got to do with it? Dating a younger man will oftentimes boost an already confident ego or self esteem. Knowing that there is a younger man in the picture, the older female doesn't want to hear negative comments like:

You two don't look right together Umph, she looks old enough to be his mother She should be ashamed of herself What does their family think about that?

Some of the above negative comments just might be true, but - who are we to judge? How do we know? Could it be that they are actually in love with each other?

Some younger men may prey on older females in the hopes of being kept. Some of these men use their looks and bodies to get what they want; male gold diggers. The fact that the woman is older doesn't mean she is wiser. Some women get taken for a long ride; some women lose everything. On the other side of the coin, some younger men actually love their older woman. They cherish her and respect her as an equal because she is an equal.

Love is a funny thing. When it hits, it hits hard. One can not listen to the masses, the Jones', the grapevine or the naysayers, listen to the heart. The heart doesn't lie. Older woman, younger man. So what? Let's live and let live. Learn and let learn.
